This is called “Catalogna”, it is a type of leaf chicory.
This vegetable cooks and eats young leaves on the inside.
Also, you can eat Puntarella leaves as well.

The use of this vegetable is useful in a wide range.
The taste is no bitter and has a good texture and it is very delicious.

It starts harvesting this season when it becomes the most severe cold.
The characteristic of this chicory is that the center getheres roundly like petals.
It is very beautiful vegetable which is rare among leaf chicories.
The harvest time is normally between February and March in every year, but it started harvesting from January in this year.
One of the interesting useage is to serve foods on the leaves, just like a plate. Verona Precoce is delicious with good chewiness and a bit of bitterness.

We began harvesting Puntarella famous as a vegetable telling the spring in Italy.
